We’ve decided to also do a fun little outline each day this week on what customer service means to us, here at Greenfield Jewelers. We found this article on “The Ten Commandments of Great Customer Service” and thought it would be a great way to tell you a little about us if you’ve never visited before. We’ve split their 10 Commandments of Great Customer Service up into 5 parts that we’ll share each day.
Great Customer Service Commandment #1: Know who is boss.
Of course, this doesn’t mean we’re standing behind the counter telling you what you REALLY need to purchase or steering you in a different direction that we know will benefit us more. On the flip side, customers don’t walk through the door demanding they see our best Vintage White Gold Engagement Ring with a near colorless stone (though we have one here!). Knowing who is boss, simply means we recognize that our customers often have something specific in mind or at least a vision or maybe even just a price range, and by listening to their individual needs and the qualities they are seeking, we can offer them the best customer service by helping them narrow down the perfect item for them. It’s our store, but ultimately your jewelry. Which ties in with Commandment #2…
Great Customer Service Commandment #2: Being a good listener.
When our customers walk out of the store with the perfect piece of jewelry in their hands, it’s because they communicated what they were looking for and we listened. Often times, it’s a back and forth process of questions and answers to help us really understand what a customer’s needs are. We might ask what metal type you prefer, if you’re planning to have this new piece for special formal events or casual wear, and if you have other matching jewelry that might go with your new addition to help you decide on colors and styles. By listening to our customers, we become a team in trying to narrow down the perfect piece that you’ll be proud to show off for many years.
